The Lake District National Park have taken their bid for World Heritage Status for the Lake District to an intimate and personal stage with their dedicated web page for the World Heritage Status bid.

We paid a visit to the Lake District National Park HQ this week for an update on the bid.  As well as meeting new faces and discussing some creative ideas, we got to learn more about the website.

It features the videos we produced for LDNP in late 2014, featuring locals from around the national park, asking them to share their views on Conservation, Identity, and Inspiration.

The real star of the web-page is one of most innovative ideas you’ll see for such a bid:  Rather than prescribing for the entire area, Lake District National Park have turned the spotlight on the community that calls The Lakes home.  The scrolling wall features tweets posted by people around the Lakes showing the best of their Lake District.

We love how the story is being told by a community made up of unique individuals, each passionate about the Lakes: who better to show the UNESCO what makes it special?!

As for the team at LDNP, their enthusiasm fills us with confidence about the bid: everyone there is determined, creative, and willing to taking inspiration from the people and community — allowing them to tell the story of the lakes themselves.

We’re excited to see what comes next…And if you haven’t already:  SUPPORT THE BID — it takes one click and could make a huge difference!
