Naik Media North West Video Production is pleased to be the latest UAV operator to be awarded night flying permission from the Civil Aviation Authority. There are many drone operators around the county, and a few of those have permission to carry out commercial operations, and fewer still can do so after daylight dies. We’re the only video production company in the Cumbria to have this (at time of writing!)
Why is this useful?
Well, the CAA states that ‘daylight’ is from 30 minutes before sunrise and 30 minutes after sunset, so this allots enough time during dawn and dusk for flying the drone without breaking the regular rules. However, there are certain shots which just need to be shot well after the sun is down.
Night time is ideal for cityscapes or filming cars driving through the streets.
Why is this useful in Cumbria?
Sure, we don’t have the cities for the cityscapes, but we have amazing roads, stunning buildings and estates which would look incredible from the sky and at night.
